On November 10, 2012, the Joyful Noise musicians spread joy through their marvelous performances at the Emeritus Home in Northridge. There were nearly 40 elderly residents who were in the audience and after the recital, they shared that they were thrilled to hear so many young children playing their instruments superbly. Speaking with the activities coordinator Aurora, I was told the seniors seldom have opportunities to go to concerts, let alone listen to live music and that this performance was an important and much-anticipated event for them. As a special surprise treat, the home provided hot chocolate with freshly-baked cookies for all of us after the recital.
